C'est Chouette’

Mondeuse, Santa Barbara County, US

Âmevive (ahm-veev) roughly translates to ‘living soul’, and what is livelier than a sparkling red!? Winemaker Alice Anderson believes there are many ways to farm consciously, or keep the land ‘alive’, and she is doing her part with a whole lotta love. This certified organic (since 1990) vineyard is considerably colder than other sites Alice sources from, and sits on the most southern line of the Santa Maria AVA. FUN FACT! Only 70 cases were made of this and we got the only one that made it to Ontario! NV #1 is 100% mondeuse, 20% from 2022 and 80% from 2021, with everything destemmed and macerated for 10 days. After combining the two vintages, they are bottled before fermentation is complete to trap CO2 like a genie in a lamp. Wild raspberry, strawberry jolly rancher, digging a deep hole, soil on your brow, savoury spice, afternoon juice break & trickling bubbles. Enjoy with corn karaage.
