We were thrilled to snap up this light and lifted Loire Star from certified legend Noëlla Moratin. A keenly passionate energy is seen across her cuvées, akin to sprouting morels in May just looking to shed their spores. A blend of green n’ brambly Cabernet Franc and deep n’ earthy Côt grown on clay, limestone & flinty soils for a dappled forest daydream. The two grape varieties are blended after fermentation, and then matured almost two years in barrel, for a chance to leisurely coalesce. White strawberries, prune filling, black cherry squish, old leather saddle, douglas fir droppings, pepper crack, sapid black fruits and musing minerality. Serve alongside lamb leg and black lentils, while watching the La Piscine remake, A Bigger Splash.
