Sleek, like beads of mountain rain rolling off a fitted leather jumpsuit, motorcycle mounted, dashing through the countryside. Winemakers Alex Götze and Christoph Wolber were bitten by the same Burgundy-bug and through cosmic fate, met & began this charming project. Together they focus on old vines & curious parcels that have either been ignored or pose too much difficulty for others to farm. The Weissburgunder, aka Pinot Blanc, is grown on heavy limestone and sandy soils and farmed organically with elements of biodynamics woven in. Whole-clusters are thrown into a basket press before moving into neutral barrels to nurture the elegant structure and coalesce slowly. Smoked honey, rock pile minerality, almond cream on warm apple fritters, green melona bar & lemon oil. Pour with side-stripe prawns, herby butter & your feet up.
