Syrah, Grenache Noir, Grenache Blanc & Clairette, Jura, France
A mineral, animalistic and mighty zero-zero red-white blend from Jura stars. Young winemakers Antoine Le Court-Chedevergne (Angers, France) and Julia Naar (Rio, Brazil) are part of an exciting ripple of low-intervention winemaking talent to newly settle in the harrowed French winemaking region of Jura (also famous for its perfectly salty cheese, ComtĂ©!). A micro-nĂ©goce, they currently source organic and biodynamic grapes from trusted winegrowers all over France, with a more recent accrual and planting of their own vines. The blend of meaty syrah and floral grenache noir are macerated for 10 months in the juice of mineral grenache blanc and tart clairette, bringing us to a place of agricultural richness expressed through flora and fauna. Sleep walking through stables, nocturnal cave, basalt rocks burying cherries, crushed cranberries, land-shifting earthquake minerality, woody spice & leather jump rope texture. Enjoy alongside your next bookclub meeting, may we suggest Butter by Asako Yuzuki.Â
