Moon Tonic'
Montonico, Abruzzo, Italy Â
A witches brew, a porcupineâs potion, a stardust tincture & a moon tonic. This Abruzzo-based natural wine project by childhood friends (try since they were three years old!) Davide Gentile and Marco Giuliani is known worldwide for their FrEaKY and mouthwatering offerings. Low intervention is the only game they know, meaning no tilling in the vineyards, recycling plant matter into mulch, using only local yeasts & bottling without fining or filtration. Montonico is a local grape variety from Abruzzo known for its pulpy nature and green nâ floral character. FUN FACT! Montonico (also the clear inspo for the wineâs name) is a parent of garganega (the famous grape of Soave) but sadly is not planted much anymore, with only 700 hectares left in the world! Whole bunch carbonic maceration for a week allows this wine to speak in vibrantly fresh and frenzied tongues. Incredibly floral, sprouting ginger, romping yeast, buddhaâs hand citrus, apple pears, hay bale, white balsamic & sandpaper tannins. Enjoy with cool earth below and an eclipse overhead.
